Social responsibility

The Rene Lacoste Foundation

The Rene Lacoste Foundation supports and subsidizes projects throughout the world that enable children to have access to sports. In 2011, the Foundation supported 20 projects, including First Tee Miami, which opens up access to golf to disadvantaged children; Sports Sans Frontieres in Afghanistan.

Protection of Biodiversity

When Rene Lacoste chose the crocodile as his emblem in 1927, he never imagined that millions of people would one day wear this logo. He also never imagined that crocodiles as a species would one day be threatened. As the first company to embroider a logo on its clothing, Lacoste is also the first company to support the Save Your Logo campaign, which allows private companies or institutions to contribute to the preservation of the animal that represents their logo. Today, through Save Your Logo, Lacoste contributes to the protection of biodiversity on the planet in its commitment to saving crocodiles, alligators, caimans, and gharials. Save Your Logo has the support of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the World Bank, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and, most recently, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Transparency Supply Chains Act

Lacoste is opposed to human trafficking and slavery and takes steps to ensure that these illegal behaviors are not incorporated into the Lacoste supply chain. These steps include agreements with vendors that they will not engage in this type of behavior and will comply with local laws. We also have the right to conduct facility audits during visits, as well as include provisions in our vendor agreements that permit Lacoste to conduct unannounced audits using independent auditing agencies. Together, we can all help to stop human trafficking and slavery in the retail industry.
